Never before have knowledge and education been more valuable and important. We have elite educators whose track record on grades speaks for itself. Where we differ from most of the market is in our belief that good grades alone are not enough in 2025/26, and we know for certain that in the coming years, they will not be.

This gap has been exploited by harmful influencers profiting from young people’s confusion. While panic grows and unrealistic bans are proposed, real conversations about the root cause are missing.

PURPOSE:
Starting with Why
Whether the goal is academic success, an apprenticeship, or better wellbeing, the main driver of motivation is a sense of purpose. As Nietzsche said, “A person who understands their why can bear almost any how.”
Understandably, many young people have no idea what their purpose is, something rarely explored in schools. Once, that may not have mattered. Good grades, a degree, and a stable job formed a clear path. But that’s no longer the world we live in.Today, content creators can earn more than doctors, AI is replacing office jobs, and apprenticeships can lead to more secure futures than degrees. Many deny or complain about this shift, but denial doesn’t change reality.
At Ascendance, we help students find purpose. Even when grades are the goal, we draw on personal performance coaching, an approach all our team is trained in. When subjects are explained in a way students relate to, they often care. The problem isn’t young people, it’s the system.
KNOWLEDGE:
Elite Academic tuition
We believe that now more than ever, academic knowledge is extremely important. Far from critiquing the school system for focusing on academic content, we are critical of it because it often alienates young people from the importance of knowledge.
We have a team of elite tutors in all major subjects, as well as a wide network of specialists in more niche areas. Many of these tutors have worked in the industries they teach; some are academic experts, and others excel at supporting neurodivergent students. One thing is certain: we have always prided ourselves on matching the right Ascendance Coach to the right student. Now more than ever, we have strength in depth. We received hundreds of applications in the first half of 2025 alone, and only selected the absolute elite.
WELLBEING:
Tackling Non-Academic Obstacles
Ascendance Coaches specialise in specific subjects, but they’re also trained to coach students through non-academic obstacles like performance anxiety, fear of failure, and procrastination. This is vital, because even the most academically gifted students can struggle if they freeze in exams or don’t know how to create a revision schedule. In a system where so much depends on exams, that can make all the difference.
We use techniques such as breathwork and grounding, but most importantly, our Coaches are trained to talk through these challenges and help students build practical plans to overcome them.
This support goes beyond academics. These obstacles often hold people back in life and are the root cause of underperformance at critical moments. As always with Ascendance, we’re preparing young people for lasting success not just in exams, but in life.
